I noticed that today. We only went once - heard good things about their other outlet, but can't say we were blown away. Meant to try it again - I guess I never will now. Inexplicably, the sushi place next door survives.

Yeah, I noticed it as well. We frequented Absolute Bakery many times while they were on the Danforth. They had the best mixed berry pies, rotis and braised lamb wraps. Sad to see them go.

A candlelight vigil was held Monday night to remember a 61-year-old grandmother gunned down in a Riverdale alleyway over the weekend.

Will have to check out village pie to see the quality of pites and cakes on offer. Looks like something out of early 90s danforth.

The board currently has restrictions on Riverdale Collegiate Institute due to over-enrolled “to help keep enrolment in check and to ensure the school had sufficient space,” McGroarty said.
Only students who attended an area school for Grade 8 can enter into Grade 9 at Riverdale Collegiate and students cannot enrol after Grade 9.
“Students who move into the area and apply for admission to the school in Grades 10 to 12 are not allowed in,” McGroarty said.
The students would still have a ‘home school’ assigned such as Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute, located less than two kilometres away.

The For Lease sign is down, they removed the Absolute signage underneath, and papered over the windows - something was going on inside on Saturday.

Spoke to one of the staff at 8 Sushi and asked about what was happening next door. Apparently the new restaurant where Absolute used to be is going to be another Greek restaurant.

Extremely disappointed after visiting the new Brigantino's Italian Restaurant at 401 Danforth. I was hoping this place would fill a void on the Danforth but I'm now willing to bet, it won't last longer than six months.

That's a shame. It's gotten some good comments and feedback on the various Danforth/Riverdale-related Facebook groups. My biggest issue is the sign - looks like some Italian restaurant from the 1980s. Nothing to entice people off the street.
