Restaurant Comings & Goings

yeah, they closed pretty much right after they opened.

they owed a lot of money, according to the notice in the window..

The location at 18 Yorkville doesn't appear to be suffering the same fate. MBCo (Montreal Boulangerie) also failed in the financial district (it's a Starbucks now), yet their Yorkville and new Rosedale locations seem to do well.

Does anyone know what's going on with Wish on Charles Street?
I was trying to make it for brunch last few Sundays ...and it was closed.

Not sure if this was mentioned elsewhere, but Jamie Kennedy at the Gardiner is closing next week.

re le pain quotidien:

the half arsed rolls that cost 9 bucks a pop (before tax) didn't find many takers, oddly enough. Am not missing them at all.

Good. Let's hope they turn the space over to ceramic display!

And the lobby - which was intended to be event space, apparently, though few seem interested in holding events there - might be reduced in size to allow the small contemporary ceramics gallery that's rather apologetically tucked away behind it to expand and breathe.

Wow, shocked to see that Outback is gone...
They're EVERYWHERE in Korea.. and strangely, damn good here too! Much, MUCh better than the Canadian offerings I had.

Looks like Greek Island at Yonge and College is gone.

It looks like the long-shuttered Coffee Time at Bay + Elm is *not* coming back as Coffee Time, after all...
