As well, early on, they were planning to rely on a homegrown vaccine. it did well in Stage 1 trials, but was dropped due to "false positive HIV result due to a protein contained in the potential vaccine"The reason is they didn't want to pay the premium prices Canada was willing to pay. I can appreciate that POV, since Covid-19 was not really prevalent in ANZ. But now ANS, like Japan is essentially cut off from the rest of the western world since they don't dare open their borders even to vaccinated Canadians, Americans, Brits or Euros.
Still 35% higher than where we were on June 25, 2020 with 189 cases. By early August 2020 we were well below 100 cases and beginning to open up again..... to our detriment. I want to see if our numbers stay flat past Labour Day and into the autumn of 2021 - that would demonstrate that the vaccine, not summer outdoors and distancing is making the difference this time.Ontario is reporting 256 cases of #COVID19 and nearly 26,600 tests completed.
