Moss Park / Queen & Sherbourne

"Full" is a profound exaggeration of absurd proportions suggesting you haven't set foot on said streetcar.

If you said "I've encountered some people" or "more than I'm comfortable with" that might be accurate, but the above statement is not.

Equating the risk of riding to that of being murdered in a City with fewer murders in its first 3 months of 2026 than any comparable period on record, 5, pacing for 21 annualized, compared with 90'ish a few years ago............is again ridiculous.

There have been zero homicides on the TTC this year, to date. (knock wood)
You don't know what I've seen. While there haven't actually been murders, there are so many people out of their minds on that streetcar that it's only a matter of time until it happens. A lot of every day assaults don't even get reported. It is not safe for a lot of people.

Considering how few police we have and their near invisibility outside of their vehicles the low murder rate in Toronto is remarkable. And when you consider that the vast majority of homicide victim were themselves involved in other criminal activity, such as drugs, the odds of the average Torontonian getting murdered is very small. Now, getting hit by a car, those are worse odds.

Can you read? It"s not just about murder. The streetcars are full of people on very hard drugs and-or severe mental health issues. They are a danger to themselves and everyone else on the streetcar. Police and emergency health officers should patrol them.

Brother, you made it all about homicide with your “life insurance” quip. We’re all just going down the path you started.
Try taking the 501 streetcar if you feel like testing out your life insurance policy.
Hyperbole like this can often distract from the intended main point. If you wanted a nuanced discussion of the social decay of Queen/Moss Park, why not lead with something based in reality? No one is getting murdered on the 501, so I suggest instead focusing on what is happening, such as the junkies loitering in doorways and shooting up, the insane walking into traffic, the shuttered storefronts, the challenges of a viable BIA, etc. And, to be balanced we should look any signs of a revival of the area.
There haven't actually been murders.
It was never about murder. That’s where you lost us.
