Modern Toronto

babel> do you know where we could get images of these proposals...the oldenburg pipes?

Shawn,

You can borrow my copy of the book to scan from if you want - but you must promise not to make it all icky with your sticky flaneur fingers.

There may still be a copy of the hardcover at BMV at Yonge and Eglinton ( n.e. corner ) where I bought mine. They have another branch next to the World's Biggest Bookstore.

It has a turquoise cover, costs about $24, and is a catalogue of a U.S. museum's collection of Oldenberg's drawings ( I forget which one ).

Includes images of:
* Proposed Colossal underground monument - Drainpipe, 1967.
* Proposed Colossal monument for Toronto - drainpipe, View from Lake, 1966.
* Base of a Colossal drainpipe Monument, Toronto, with Waterfall, 1967.
* Soft Drainpipe ( drawn for catalogue of Dine-Oldenburg-Segal group show at the AGO, 1966.

Thanks Babel. I'm clean, mostly. I'll be quick about the borrowing too.

How do I get the book to you? Or you could come to my ... ahem ... place of employment to pick it up ( I'll give you the guided tour ) if you want?

Dude, that would be cool. Maybe later this week. You should email me shawn at usual and we can figure out something. I like tours.
