My ride home is even more dangerous, with all three middle seats out of service.
That's an interesting fact, didnt know about the GM being an ex-TTC employee. Anyways, if that's the case that the Commissioner of Transporation oversees the GM, and if he directed them to put into place this idiotic decision then I truly feel sorry that Mississauga has fool meddling in the affairs of transit in the city. The GM is from TTC subway division and not a bad person to deal with, compare to his boss the Commissioner of Transportation. His staff is another story and been an issue since 2000. They get their marching order from council who are going back to the dark age of transit in Mississauga because the car folks not willing to fund it these days.
Speaking of new buses. One of the 215x back end artics were spotted at Winnipeg a few weeks ago. I’ve been told it was removed and shipped off to Crookston.Time to put seatbelts in the buses, especially the way some drivers drive.
Buses were 2003 40's and 2008 artic's. All buses from 2003 to 2010 are up for replacement and most likely be up to 2012 at the rate we may see delivery by 2024 if it happens.
Regardless of fibric material for seats, you can go flying with very hard breaking as well the plastic ones.

Anyone working for Mississauga transit these days with 23 plus years are marking time until their 25-30 year timeframe is at an end who will be waving bye bye on their last day of work.
The following changes will occur for September 6, 2021, which are mostly additional service reductions:
2: Saturday midday service reduced to 14 minutes from 12 minutes (-1 bus)
4: Revised routing to Sherway Gardens via Dixie, Queensway, West Mall, Evans
6: Weekday rush hour service reduced to 25 minutes from 18 minutes (-1 bus)
7: Saturday service between 5am-10am and 7pm-end increased to 38 minutes from 60 minutes
17: Saturday midday service reduced to 17 minutes from 13 minutes (-1 bus)
23: Weekday rush hour service reduced to 20 minutes from 17 minutes (-1 bus)
45: Weekday rush hour service reduced to 17-18 minutes from 14 minutes (-2 buses). Schedule adjustments to evening trips
57: Detour routing via Derry due to Old Derry bridge construction
61: Additional late evening trips on weekdays. Saturday/Sunday detour routing via Derry due to Old Derry bridge construction.
68: Sunday service eliminated
90: Saturday service eliminated
107: Route reinstated on weekdays only, operating all day between City Centre and Humber with 20 minutes frequency
109: Weekday midday service reduced to 20 minutes from 15 minutes (-2 buses)
Lack of ridership is the main reason. Why in the hell are they reducing the 109?
Their rational is likely "oh we're bringing back the 107, so the core section of the 109 is well served". Sorry but no, they need to go back to the drawing board. They are severely underestimating how well in demand that service is on the 109.
Sure the ridership on the 109 has certainly gone down over the past few months, but if they think come September it will continue being that low then they are dreadfully wrong.Lack of ridership is the main reason.
Why have empty or near empty buses on the road wasting resources???
Until ridership increases to where it was before the COVID-19 mess or ridership increase, best to increase headway to save funds or use those funds somewhere else.
Have you looked at the ridership to say it not the right thing to do for any route 3 days in a row at the same time to see how many riders are on the bus in the first place??
Mississauga is also lacking buses since no replacement have been order starting with the 2003 that are nearing their 18th year in place of their 15th where a few maybe still on the road. Then there is the 2005 and 2006 that are over due for replacement along with articulated buses.
No idea why the Fed's not funding Mississauga 450 buses replacement when Brampton, Halifax are seeing 400 plus being replace as well other places across Canada. All Mississauga buses are to be hybrid only.
As someone that has been dealing with Mississauga transit on all levels since 2000, I would be the first to jump all over them on service, but the case at this time doesn't support it. Midday has been a mix bag in the past and with COVID-19 it at its lowest level since it went into service. Time will tell which one of us is wrong.Sure the ridership on the 109 has certainly gone down over the past few months, but if they think come September it will continue being that low then they are dreadfully wrong.
It wont surprise me at all to see some very busy buses midday because of this nonsense.

From what I know both CX/CP are at full capacity and that was from 2 weeks ago, but I’m not sure how there holding up at this point but these brand new XDE60s hopefully start delivery soon.Lack of ridership is the main reason.
