Not only was it known for "topless waitresses," but there were also some dancers picketing on the street (1971) for more pay if they were expected to display nudity.

The design looks different but the Google Street Views suggest that that memorial outside the hall was removed around 2010 and a new one appeared in the intersection around the same time.

The design looks different but the Google Street Views suggest that that memorial outside the hall was removed around 2010 and a new one appeared in the intersection around the same time.

By 'sort of' I meant that the original bronze plaques were remounted on the new monument, while the cross from the top of the old monument is now lying flat in front of it.
