That intersection of Yonge & Esplanade (seen here-1930) must have been a busy place until the fire of 1951............

Remnants of the long-abandoned Canadian Northern Railway line right-of-way (seen here in 1910) can be detected today in aerial photos such as this.
The broken line of greenery on the right is evidence of the original RR line.
