Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

Tableau Vintage.

Vintage menu kindly provided by JT CUNNINGHAM. Thank you JT.

The Rathskeller was one of the Walker House restaurants. Check the date; just over 50 years ago.

Watch and sunglasses belonged to my paternal gramps. Purchased respectively at Simpson's Yorkdale and the Hermant Building; in the 60s. The watch is chronometer certified - high grade stuff in its day. The sunglasses are jewel like, glass and gold filled wire, heavy, precision optics for the eyes. Made right here in Toronto in the Hermant building. I was with him when he bought both items. Being the first son of a first son, he dragged me everywhere. These things will go to one of my children; not being fussy about primogeniture, they might wind up with a daughter.

Gramps' 1957 income tax return. A New City Hall pin I found at the St. Lawrence antique market. Lichee Garden matches I found at a postcard show.
