This is certainly not Toronto, but some historians among us may be interested in these old & rare aerial photos of Britain in the early 20th century:

Now: Bay looking N from Elm, June 2012 (from s side of Elm as I wanted a slightly wider view) Can you see anything that's the same??

I had intended to do a quick set for 650 Bay (the SW corner of Bay and Elm), but I seem to have misplaced the 'then' photos. (I am pretty sure they're kicking around this thread somewhere via someone else, but I want to gather them all in one place If I find them I'll post.)

The picture of Elgin Ford prompted me to come out of "lurkdom".....I worked there back in 65/66....my second ever job. My first job was a little ways up the street at Bay & Gerrard at "Eatons Automotive Center"...Yes..that "Eatons"...anyone remember that ?, or better yet have pics ?...I've never been able to find any.
In the Bay looking north pic, you can see the BA Sign to the right of the streetcar..That was the Automotive center.

Judging by the placement of the windows and the door, I think that the flat fronted building in the before photo was heavily renovated and extended to the left, rather than torn down and replaced with something newer.
