I'm also wondering when Britannica started to sport its rooftop sign (which was a landmark all the way through the 80s, and what most remember the building for)

Interesting question. This postcard shows the sign and given that the streetcar tracks were removed in 1966 and the ManuLife Centre started construction in 1970, it was at least there during this period.

I don't have a "now" to go with, but my photos app served me an "on this day" memory that made for a pretty striking "then". This is looking west from the top of the TD Centre during Doors Open, 2004. Missing from this view are all the condos of Liberty Village and the Ordnance Triangle, all the towers of Humber Bay Shores, all the condos in the Fort York neighbourhood, The Well, and all of Cityplace. Instead, please enjoy the old Molson brewery on Fleet St and the little par-3 golf course that was briefly at Spadina & Bremner.

Edit: I do have a "now" version – I forgot I went up the TD Centre again at Doors Open last year! (Cameras got better, obviously)

Please delete if not suitable. I'm trying to source a previous picture of 252 Dupont Street. It was a funeral home which was, for a time taken over by Rochdale College as a free clinic. I lived in this building before they took over and, unfortunately, was not a photographer at that time of my life... this would have been in the early 1970's. Thanks for any assistance.
