That was quite the walk!

Thanks for sharing. There are a few projects that have went slightly under the radar, so it's nice to see the progress on those (ie: 77 Charles). It's crazy how much development this one area is receiving.

That's a great update, thanks for the work that went into that.

Though isn't midtown around Eglinton?

To me, Eglinton is the city limit. Everything above Erskin is farm.

But seriously, I've always wrestled with what is midtown. Read once that it describes Bloor. Other times it describes Y&E. Once I think it read it describes everything south of the Queensway, but I think that person was from Ottawa.

Basically, I don't know. Judges?

I tend to agree. Most people I talk to consider Eglinton midtown. I do know that in the past Yonge and Bloor was considered midtown though. Toronto is a much larger city now, so I would say midtown has naturally shifted north. However, I don't see it ever wandering farther north of Eglinton.

Ah, now that's what I come to this forum to see. Pictures of construction without the chatter about height or cladding or "filling in gaps in the skyline".

Well, speaking about cladding, it amazes me that they haven't put up cladding on BSN this far into the game. And the "Scar of Downtown" really lives up to its name. Those unplanted sod plots will be perfect receptacles for wind blown trash come springtime. Too bad they didn't pave a full width sidewalk - I guess it's neither a star, nor does it recognize that it's downtown.

Good job! One Bedford looks like it has only increased barely one level since I was last by there in late August.

Midtown is an area of many intersections. Once you're north of Bloor things change noticeably. The parks are larger and there are more lowrise residential streets. Yet the area is still relatively dense with many highrises.

Yonge from Bloor to Eglinton is definitely midtown.

As much as I really enjoyed the photo updates, why do you choose not to put the photos in their appropriate threads?

When I first came to this site we had threads like this a lot. It was a nice day last Monday so I went for a walk in my neighbourhood and beyond.

Many thanks for the great photos (but this is downtown, not midtown).

Thanks, it is fun to go out and take the pictures. I walk by these sites all the time but never have my camera. I originally intended to just do (midtown) on Bloor but that agenda changed after the first photo stop: Lumiere. Ironically enough, I never made it north of Bloor to get to the Yorkville sites I had intended to snap. I've changed the title of the thread, especially since a few of these are from my neighbourhood in downtown.

As much as I really enjoyed the photo updates, why do you choose not to put the photos in their appropriate threads?

Laziness. Pure laziness.
