Mark Kingwell Lecture: Concrete Reveries

Mark Kingwell, as most of you know, is a Canadian social critic and professor of philosophy at UofT. His work concerning justice, consciousness, civility, and political philosophy in general, have made him quite famous in this country and abroad. One of his most recent books is entitled "Concrete Reveries: Consciousness and the City."

He recently lectured at Lakehead University and briefly touched upon several themes in his book. Particular focus is given to New York and Shanghai, but Toronto and the rest of Canada are afforded similar investigation.

Brilliant. I really respect Kingwell even though I don't agree with all of his ideas. I had seen a different version of this last year at the ROM as part of a larger discussion about the future of Shanghai but it was great to hear it again.
