Mapping where locals and tourists go

The yellow dots are sometimes strange, though...are they not sure about whether it's tourists or local New Yorkers that are visiting the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island? Where's the divide placed between locals and tourists? Foreign? Out of state/province?

It was defined as follows:

Blue points on the map are pictures taken by locals (people who have taken pictures in this city dated over a range of a month or more).

Red points are pictures taken by tourists (people who seem to be a local of a different city and who took pictures in this city for less than a month).

Yellow points are pictures where it can't be determined whether or not the photographer was a tourist (because they haven't taken pictures anywhere for over a month). They are probably tourists but might just not post many pictures at all.

Too bad tourist only see the most boring parts of Toronto: CN Tower, Skydome, Financial district, and the most boring stretch of Queen.

For Montreal, it seems strange that it is hardly photographed at all. Most the urban part of Toronto are photographed, but there are large areas of inner city Montreal that are hardly photographed at all. For Toronto, I am surprised at the lack of photos along Eglinton...
