But the ones beside them on the West side of that street are nicer ... although no retail whatsoever in them.

I was inside this tower a few days ago to look at a condo. 1 br condos are going for $1300/m in that building but I was pretty unimpressed. The one I looked at had a musty smell inside, similar to an older apartment building. It was also pretty beaten up, the landlord seemed to make no attempt to shine it up since the last tenant left. I ended up signing a lease at the circa building across the street, it was much better kept, and everything from the faucets to the appliances seemed to be of much higher quality.
