Toronto Leslie Lookout Park | ?m | ?s | CreateTO | CCxA

It's weird we're even having this debate....as it should go without saying that those involved with public works here should be invited to the opening as honoured guests. Full stop. This is not rocket science.

Looks like there is some free e-bike charging stations at this park 🤣

Don't have much of a problem with those charging from the lamppost, though not particularly happy there's one blocking part of the lookout deck, which isn't exactly huge

IMHO, those should be licensed as mopeds/motorcycles, not e-bikes. You can't pedal them!

Right next door.

Flicker - “Drone Alone”. haha
What happens if the flicker link doesn’t work a few years down the road? Eg: see some old threads.

My wife says it is a solo sport. She has about 2 seconds of patience, Lola with treats, maybe 5.

I'm going to start uploading thumbnails here too. Just in case. But Flickr has been pretty reliable. Been a member since 2011.

It's reliable but their prices have gone up quite a bit since I've joined. I don't look forward to the day they put them up enough to make me leave because I have loads of photos on here that are from there.

I hear that.

Kotsy, do you know if I put something on here through Flickr, is Urban_Toronto still able to 'grab it' for Photo of the Day if they want to or can Photo of the Day only be considered if uploaded directly to Urban Toronto?

Yes, I’m pretty sure it’s still possible. I’ve seen other daily photos with links to Flickr images. There’s also an UrbanToronto group on Flickr.

I like Flickr since it stores all original uncompressed images, leading to great quality photos. Although file sizes can get huge! But I do find it more convenient to post directly using UT’s uploader, instead of making a separate account and linking there. Also higher chance of dead links with external hosting.

Are you gonna upload all your UT photos on Flickr? And vice-versa?

Question, I’ve noticed some of your recent posts on here have been deleted? Like the post on “post your photos of Toronto here” thread of Yonge-Dundas Square, the post asking which angle for the GO Trains, and asking whether photos should be uploaded as thumbnails or fullscreen.

I find it frustrating that Urban Toronto photos are such relatively low-resolution when you upload. They're not even full screen on a 15" screen.

I understand from a cost perspective, but from a creative perspective it's disappointing as it doesn't show the photo in all its detail.

I think going forward I'll post phots from Flickr AND upload small thumbnails to Urban Toronto.

Yeah, I was going to mention that. I hope UrbanToronto can increase the quality.

Are you going to upload all of your older photos to Flickr? Or are they going to stay only on UT? I’ve noticed some older photos have been uploaded already to your Flickr.

Here is a comparison between UrbanToronto’s image quality and Flickr’s image quality. The difference is compressed vs original. Photo by @hawc
Comparison by me.
