Only people from outside the neighbourhood call it "The Danforth", it's Danforth for us folks who live in the hood. It's like people calling the beach, "The Beaches" It's the beach!!!

I've lived in the Danforth area for most of my life and I call it "The Danforth" because it seems to reference the area as a whole and not just the one street. Oddly enough, manypeople I've encountered from outside the area call it Danforth and think it strange to put the "the" in front.
