Those wonderful views of the Islands really emphasize the beautiful gem at our doorstep.

For a "Then & Now" it would be nice to have a current aerial photo matching this 1929, east-looking view of Ashbridge's Bay.
That's the old Woodbine Racetrack (at the foot of Woodbine Ave.) and all that water in the foreground has now been filled-in to accommodate Lake Shore Blvd. and parkland.
Queen St. E. runs thru the photo and Eastern Ave. is near the water.

holy shit, these are epic. love this!!! I'm a bit busy, and will probably work on a better reply because each photo posted is worth a thousand words. I've actually gone out of my way to look for oblique aerial images of downtown TO in the past, particularly the east side. well, i needn't search anymore.

One thing I like about updated shots of/around downtown is that the city is always changing, and even different times of day can change the appearance of a city. These photos are crisp and clear, and look great. One thing that's a bit of a shame is with this NWT forest fire and the effect it's having on visibility. It can be a crisp, cool day without any mugginess - and the sky still has an ashen haze hanging over it.

Nice to see Tableau and Picasso shaping up in those photos. How has that parking lot directly south of the CHUM City Building remained undeveloped for so long? It has almost completely unobstructed views of the CN Tower. I'm surprised nothing has been built on that site during this boom.
