went to check out guildwood park and guild inn. it was quite sad to see the place in such a state. i can only imagine at what a nice place it was when it was open. it still could potentiall be a great resort area if the right people come along with the proper financing. the gloomy day today made it seem even more lonely and abandoned. it was neat to see how almost all of the pieces were transported from the king/bay area when they were building those huge bank towers. im glad they didn't totally scrap them and found a home for them here.

it seemed like this was a float that was filled with flowers which they use in parades. there were 2 more laying around.

an unusual building that seems to be in use but for what purpose i couldn't find out as there were no signs or any other identifiying markers. although the hydro meter was working.

behind that building are pieces of buildings that were not used but are still fenced in.

The 6 storey, 100 room east wing was added to The Guild Inn to accommodate the
increasing number of visitors who came to see the craftsmen at work and the beauty
of the property.

The final renovation was added to the building with the addition of the heritage lounge.

Toronto's version of ancient ruins! this is one part of the city that I am not at all familiar with, even though I lived in Scarborough for about 5 years...

So are all those arches and sculptures parts of old buildings?
yup. mostly bank buildings that were torn down to make way for the towers that stand there today.
