GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

^ I can't remember but in one of the updates in 2020 or 2021 they projected in months how long construction of the entire project would take. Maybe @crs1026 or others remember.

I can't, but the target date in most announcement still says 2024. See here.

PS - but more recently 60-70 months, from the business case approved by ML 02/2020 p xiv here

Time's a ticking, is all I can say.

PPS - Just to refresh the history, the final decision on route was made in February 2020 - see here. - with much backtracking on timeline.

Just saw an L6L6 consist, both MP40, head west on LSE toward Union at Coxwell. Does GO often run that formation when not a rescue? Haven’t seen previously.

^Admittedly, I don’t know some of the faces…. but isn’t that Zoom call a bit light on people from the Province? Metrolinx? CP?

PS - 2018 Provincial election results shows Halton/Peel going blue….. ya don’t suppose there’s an agenda here…..

The majority of those seen are with the Town of Milton, along with a Federal MP, the Federal Minister, and a Federal Advisor to the Federal Minister.

So of those 9 faces, zero are from CP, Mx, or the province.

I don't see the absence of CP as a problem, CP's relationship is to Mx, with some political intervention behind the scenes if required. This call was clearly a photo-op/political endeavour.

This was also about politicians from the 2 levels represented being seen to advocate/respond to same.

Yes, Mx and the Province are clearly necessary stakeholders; but this wasn't about that. This was for show and political gain.
