Closing?
I don't think there's been any official indication that it's closing.

It's more of an urban legend than fact. We would all appreciate if you can cite it for us.Hasn't it been long known that it was closing when Downsview Park opened?
GO have yet to confirm it and there are some trying to keep it open.Hasn't it been long known that it was closing when Downsview Park opened?
Shuttle bus for York U.That 'York U' station. Tried it on the anniversary of the blackout this year. The walk to Steeles & Petrolia is longer than I like. What on earth made them put it there.

Yep, that station should have been put further north to abut Steeles Ave, with a stairway to access Steeles and a TTC bus stop.
If you're going to require a shuttle anyways to York, whats the difference?
Because then the shuttle would have had to load on Steeles, where there isn't really a location for it to pull over and wait.

There's huge amount of land along Steeles available to build a bus bay, if that was the best solution. Or using Limestone for the stop rather than Canartic. There were lots of options.Because buses never stop at stations on the side of the road ever

Yeah....ok, lets move the station to a completely useless location 400m south simply because we can't build a simple bus stop.
Except that because of the interlocking at Steeles the platform couldn't be right at the bridge. Forgot about that, eh?

~200 metres, plus another 100 metres to a point where the sidewalk is at the elevation of the road. Let's call it 300 metres just to be easy.It could be close enough for a reasonable walkway.

Versus ~125 meters from the platform to Canarctic.

*sigh* I still can't support this theoretical shifting to Steeles when Concord is a better option in terms of spacing and rapid transit network building.
