GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I haven’t heard what work is finished at Maple … but… the MPP’s prose means little if the second track hasn’t been cut in from Concord to Teston.
Until then, it’s just another pretty looking unused platform that won’t see a single train until that next task gets completed.
And the way ML sequences work, it may be a long wait #WestHarbourTailTrack

Just like Agincourt, the second platform has been collecting dust for years.

Metrolinx says it is closing the Langstaff GO south parking lot. It says it will be blocking pedestrian access from the south parking lot as well. This is part of Yonge subway extension work.

Yesterday from the Dundas and Lansdowne No Frills parking lot. Massive rig, was hard to capture it from the ground. Maybe creating the foundations for the Railpath bridge that will cross the tracks here?

Yeah, can someone help with this? What's the need to drive caissons here unless it's for a bridge?

Hold on, did they sever the Stouffville line entirely north of Agincourt?
Yes, for the weekend.

gotransit.com summary of the weekend’s construction activities state the time was used to run new sewer lines and other utilities under the tracks apart of the grade separation project.

Additionally, retaining walls along the corridor were inspected apart of SOGR work. Nothing material occurred at West Highland Creek. My prior post about new piles being dropped off prior to the weekend closure was in fact the opposite. Piles and sandbags that have been left in the staging area were being removed.

Aside from getting a new switch installed, or at least prepared for installation, west of Danforth GO I couldn’t see any material changes to the ST line or LSE corridor west of Scarborough GO.

That new switch from current T1 to the new T0 at Danforth would have been the biggest news, but there was also some jersey barrier shifting away from the two operable rail tracks east of Queen. I take this as a sign that segments are ready for final grading. There's still some formwork and concrete pours to complete on the bridges. The utility/telecom work seems to be progressing, with some of the previous trenching now filled in, but more connections to be made in spots. A lot of smaller jobs to finish up before the basic 4-track civil works are complete.

Mx posted some photos of this past weekend's work on their socials.

I liked this one best:

annoyingly they did not post where, but cross-ref with the background i reckon the first shot is right on just west of danforth GO, on woodbine ave looking west for anyone else wondering. I wonder what made them decide to put in a switch here.

They’re installing a fourth track to initially be used to store rail equipment in the corridor. Eventually the fourth track will enter revenue service.

I probably should have added that info myself; but didn't think about it as this is relatively close to me and the visual cues stood out.

Below, you see the area off to the right, that's the Merrill Park ravine, with the new boardwalk at the bottom.

That is located just about 2 blocks west of Woodbine.

The construction in the background, on the left is the Rushden Station apartments, right beside Danforth GO, on the east side of Main St.
