The second platform was essentially complete last winter though. There has been now been 5 cab boarding for 14 months. Its interesting because Rutherford was a P3 with a fixed and likely aggressive schedule and they did some weird transitions from old platform to new (even a temporary wood platform) to get it complete while this seems like the opposite. Double tracking is important but they are losing at least 1 minute every trip for the extra time boarding/deboarding.

I don't know that it was confirmed anywhere, but the Grimsby GO announcement is still envisioned for the Casablanca site? No change of heart for setting up shop at the current VIA station?

I suspected they held back details because metrolinx was prepping an announcement, but hey its metrolinx "its happening" soon LOL

CN has been putting concrete ties in as well in strategic areas mostly around sharp curves. The area all through Parry Sound is concrete ties now. Though no speed limits have been raised

@crs1026 there is currently a 4 track signal bridge east of Logan with the 2 tracks in service where they are plan to be east of Pape to the Don. The signal bridge is on the curb. If crossovers are to go in, it will be on the south side of Dundas St or a new block and signals south of Queen St or about around there.
Crew drilling anchor holes on the southside of Queen in preparation for the new pier support for the OL bridge once the old CN bridge is remove this month.
Shooting Eastern Ave, noticed GO trains were 2-4 minutes apart in both directions with a VIA about the same time westbound behind the 2nd GO Train. A eastbound VIA train was 4 minutes behind a GO train a Pape.
More to follow once I get to the photos I shot.

Here is the construction announcement for a third logistics hub. This one is on the Kitchener Line near Islington Ave, to the east of Etobicoke North GO. It has the same 8 month construction timeframe as the other two. For whatever reason, the document wasn't posted to Metrolinx's website until a couple of days after the first two were announced.

It says it will cut down the walk from 8 minutes to 2 minutes, but a rough measure on google maps says the roundabout way is 375 metres and the direct way is 165 metres. So 44% as far, doesn't sound like it will cut the walk to a quarter of the time. But avoiding going outside is a major benefit a lot of the time, especially with luggage.

The diagram provided would give you that impression but the connections will be to the ends of the TTC subway platforms, not to the TTC station building, so the distance to walk to the platforms will be significantly less. This diagram was provided in an earlier news release:

I just hope they put escalators into the stairwells. TTC elevators are too slow at the best of times, and definitely no bueno for a mad dash to the airport. Lots of people using that connection will have luggage.
