GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

There were 2 or 3 workers south of Bloor, removing one of the "sculptures" when I went by on the GO train today.

I wonder if the work is sequenced that loosely, such that a single task like removing the sculpture means everything else is paused.

ML will blame any delay on the contractor. My main objection to their project method is that they have succeeded in a seamless blame deflection strategy. Nothing sticks to ML.

tbf the contractor will stretch out their work as much as possible to maximise on their OT pay. its a lose lose for everyone. i wonder how ML does their contracts. is it a fixed price or cost plus? it really looks like the latter based on how the contractors are working or in this case not working.

Davenport Diamond is $175M fixed price contract, but that's really only true if the facts of the tender are correct (soil is what Metrolinx says it will be, work-space and times Metrolinx says will be available are actually available, etc.)

Who are the Construction Managers for this job then? Seems to me they employed those who got Cs at management school.

By Friday, not a single thing had moved:

Just a couple of pics of the LSE corridor works taken from the Main Street bridge on April 6th, 2023:

(excuse the larger file size, I'm playing some new photo editing software and working out the kinks)
