I'm more happy about Aecon/Hatch (who have a lot of GO project experience) being in the winning mix.

PS: The announcement of a "first winner/second winner" designation makes me think IO/ML may be hoping to negotiate hard with the threat of moving to the second bidder solidly on the table.

True, but the wording is so far from "winner/loser" or even "successful/outbid". I don't think that's just somebody's political correctness. The message to #2 reads to me like, "hang around, we still may want to talk to you".

This post is slightly tangential to the thread.......but related.
In this thread we've had a fair bit of discussion about Small's Creek Ravine, and the impacts of construction from LSE Corridor Expansion.
Today' the ravine, or what's left of it (pre-LSE works) is quite small and fragmented into two by the rail corridor.
But worth noting, it was not always so.
Came across this pic from the Facebook Group "Friends who like Vintage Toronto"

The ravine at Upper Gerrard Street
No date given, but I would assume the first 1/2 of the 20th C.
Not indicated whether we are looking North or South, but the sun on the bridge suggests this is north to me.
That section of ravine looks like this today:

I've always hoped to find photos of the ravine before they filled it in for the embankment. Early 1920s from some of the early photos of the embankment with no trees.
I'm not sure why Metrolinx never considered the option of putting a bridge back as one of the environmental options for the ravine.

Looks like they are putting on the finishings (coverings) on the platforms. Like painting the rooms in your house, followed by moving in the furniture. In this case, installing the signs.Feb 26

LSW improvements project contract awarded. Notably, the Kerr Street Grade Separation has been dropped from this project. Maybe it will be tendered as its own project?
Contract Awarded for Lakeshore West Infrastructure Improvements Project
Improvements include:- Long Branch GO Station improvements and accessibility
- Burloak Drive Grade Separation
- Drury Lane pedestrian bridge replacement
- Enabling works for electrification

hmm, does anyone have a recent image of kerr street since april of last year? appererntly they were doing tree clearing then. is construction going on right now? wondering if it was awarded in early works.
the mimico, clarkson and bronte station improvements i think were also tendered in separate early works
