GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

The booths are for the station attendants who have been assigned a larger role at Long Branch in ensuring each train executes door operations correctly. As such, station attendants need to be readily available to greet each train stopping at the station.

Long Branch is a non-accessible station and never had an accessible platform. The blue stripe in this instance acts as a visual indicator for the CSA to ensure that the train has stopped at the correct spot on the platform.
Well aware of no accessibility platform for the station as none existed when I used to drop off and pickup the wife when we bought our first house in Lakeview a number of decades of go. Had the kids with me when picking up the wife that the kids became excited when the train pull in.

Cannot why ML will not put a wooden platform like they do for other stations being rebuilt??

Understand the booth after seeing the number of staff on the platforms.

I believe other stations had existing accessible platforms that needed replacement during re-construction, whereas Long Branch never had one, therefore a replacement is currently not needed until the brand new one is completed.
Even if they constructed a temporary wooden one, people with wheeled mobility aids could not access as there would be no elevators to get them up to and down from the island platforms until again, the brand new ones are constructed.

Who ever wrote this needs to be fired. The way I read this is that service is suspended from Oshawa to Pickering to add more tracks. Which means trains are running between union and Rouge Hill which is not the case. Buses where full from Pickering to union.

Did you mean to link something? Metrolinx are also working on a track switch at Danforth and the Birchmount bridge this weekend.

This may not be the best thread but it's since happening in conjunction with the Kitchener Line 4th track installation around Bloor GO, latest West Toronto Railpath restoration pics. Tweet here from GO Expansion.

As we gear up for the reopening of the West Toronto Railpath, we’ve been hard at work replanting a diverse range of beautiful trees to bring new life to the area. We can't wait for you to enjoy this revitalized green space!

Today. Lots of visible progress on LSE / Ontario Line shared corridor. Aside from Logan / Dundas intersection, the whole enlarged corridor is now filled in and graded. Going east:

Most of the shared corridor north of Queen is now filled in, with noise wall going up, through Dundas:

^Wow... they are moving fast. On other corridors, the sound walls are erected long before the track layers arrive.

The construction technique is mighty efficient also. One can only form and pour concrete so fast, but those lego-like retaining walls have gone together and been filled in a flash.

Same I'm impressed that the track laying is moving forward. Can't wait to have 4 tracks on the Kitchener Line from Union all the way to the 401 tunnel up and in use!
