George Hislop Park, Norman Jewison Park and Alexander Street Parkette

Alexander Street Parkette has been mostly dug up (although the benches at the entrance are still there), mostly it seems to expose the parking structure underneath. Not sure if they're doing repairs to that before the park gets rebuilt, but it would make sense.

The target for the more northerly parks as of spring, was Spring '24

Alexander did not have a target at the time. (I imagine they didn't know the extent of the required work on the garage and so didn't know when restoration could start)

Following up on this, a tender for the Park work is now out:

Yeah, this is taking far too long, it is scheduled that way.......for reasons that defy logical explanation. Supposed to be done in a few months, last I checked...........wouldn't expect much new work before April.

Alexander St Parkette has been moving pretty quickly now work has stated, a number of concrete paths have been poured. I'll have to get a picture next time I walk by.

@Benito is nearby to the Yonge Street Linear parks, perhaps he could indulge us with an update when he has a moment.

About six weeks later, on November 5th, 2024:

* there's some tidying up to to do; but all plants are in, grass being watered, most/all furniture is in, and lighting is installed. There really isn't a good reason this can't open in the next 3 weeks or so.

I will say, the large patch of flat sod, w/no fences around it.......seems like it may attract previously problematic usage. I would not have done that.
