Finch West Line 6 LRT

Nov 20
This line is not close to be open cone Dec 7 or Dec 15 with all kinds of construction material along the street as well the cycling lanes out of service. Then you got the mest at York Gate that can take 10 minutes to west from Jane and 3-10 minutes to east depending how backup the left turn lane.

Most of all, scheduling and headway all over the place with the line been very slow. Looks like TTC was trying to maintain a 10 minute schedule that work at times to 3-15 minutes other times. Until there is a few weeks of maintaining a 10 minute headway, it will be seen as a mistake to have this line in place of existing buses or a BRT.

Pass an eastbound car that caught up to me at Albion Rd and was 10 minutes behind me when I hit the 400 stop doing the speed limit. Only made it as far as Jane with videos and photos that will follow later.

Did see a crew picking up pillions going west and still a large amount of them to be pickup. Did noticed in a few places that the curb still had asphalt in place of concrete.

Having watched both Line 5 and 6 being built as well operating so far as well the Hurontario LRT, LRT on the surface in the GTAH will not work with the current thinking of Transportation planners as welll transit planners. As much as I hate to say this, time to move to elevated lines as traffic is killing transit and creating longer travel time for riders.

As a note, I call them stations.
Once again, the Revenue Service Demonstration period is over and they are training another class of operators right now. They aren't adhering to any schedule because they don't need to. As for the construction material along the street, so long as it isn't in the LRT right-of-way that work doesn't affect whether this line is ready to open or not. If the TYSSE is any example, they will still be doing remedial work long after the line is open for revenue service.

Thanks. Hoping something official gets announced soon, though it would only make sense given the TTC already started updating the maps and advertising Line 6.
I wouldn't be surprised if there's a last minute press conference tomorrow (Friday), given that Metrolinx leaked the date. Though, various media outlets reported that the date was December 7 last month.

Metrolinx removed the link to that presentation slide BTW.
It's still working for me. There is just a LOT of traffic on the site so it might not load for some.
The link in my post works for the moment. I think what @TwoWheelPoli means is that the slideshow has disappeared from Metrolinx's documents page, which is where I first found it. Fortunately, I was expecting that and downloaded a copy of the file. It's nice to see @nfitz had the same thought. There were 12 documents originally posted, and now only nine show. I will double check which others have been taken down, and post copies if @nfitz hasn't beaten me to it.

I can’t access any of the board documents for the upcoming meeting :(

I thought it was still working as well - but when I opened an incognito window, it didn't work. What was happening is my browser was caching it.

Looking at https://www.metrolinx.com/en/about-us/document-centre the only link that still works is the agenda! - https://assets.metrolinx.com/image/...ovember_27_2025_Board_of_Directors_Agenda.pdf

I don't have copies of any of the other reports.

First the Epstein files, now this. :(
There are Metrolinx employees lurking to enforce their strict opaqueness policy! If you spread open source intelligence that puts Mx at risk of not meeting their own deadline (Dec 7) and losing face again, they'll have to initiate a cover up!

I posted copies of five more documents in the GO Construction thread. I think I'll leave the rest until tomorrow.

(EDIT: Update - I've now uploaded all 11 of the documents in the GO Construction thread. I left out the board agenda, but that one still seems to be publicly accessible.)

I do enjoy these two talking points being presented by the same person at the same board meeting:

One board document (the slides for Rapid Transit projects) state Finch LRT will be in service Dec 7.

Another board document (the write up memo for Rapid Transit projects) states the opening date is in the hands of the TTC and unknown at this time.

Some great coordination at this transit coordination agency.

CP24 has picked up on the news about the Finch West LRT opening on December 7.

They have now reposted the documents that were removed. I can't find any changes offhand. The reference to the Dec. 7 Finch LRT opening day is still there. I guess they figured the cat was out of the bag. Aecon also released this press release today about completing the Finch LRT.
They've posted the agenda on the Board meeting page as well - which they hadn't done previously. https://www.metrolinx.com/en/about-us/the-board/board-meetings/meeting-2025-11-27

Time to send this version to the Wayback machine quick! (edit - or maybe not quick "The capture will start in ~38 hours, 44 minutes because our service is currently overloaded."
