Finch West Line 6 LRT

They have now reposted the documents that were removed. I can't find any changes offhand. The reference to the Dec. 7 Finch LRT opening day is still there. I guess they figured the cat was out of the bag. Aecon also released this press release today about completing the Finch LRT.
The memo and slides for Rapid Transit now both state Line 6 will open on Dec 7. That’s the only change I’ve found so far.

No different than riding one of the streetcars downtown...
I suspect it will be much better. Line 6 runs in its own ROW with significantly larger stop spacing then our streetcar system, and, although there’s no signal priority, trams should also pass intersections with parallel tracks much faster as line 6 uses a different technology to our streetcars which are forced to crawl through most intersections downtown. Plus, line 6 stops are larger and nicer than the ones downtown with level boarding and improved way-finding.

If you seen how they are operating it, you can clearly see the 36 bus moves faster without traffic.

Even in mixed traffic the 36 is faster than the LRT.

Comparing this tine to any TTC lines, the 512 is the closest comparison betweeb the lines and it will be slower than Finch

The time improvements will be limited to the area around the 400 interchange, and the approaches to Keele Station and to Humber College; otherwise I don’t see it being any faster than the bus it replaces. But these small sections alone hopefully will result in an improved operation.

Is it? Even right now at 7 pm on the weekend, from Humber College to Finch West is 38 minutes.

But at PM peak, the 36 is 54 minutes for that 11 km! That's 12. 5 km.hr. I know we've tossed around some low speeds for Line 6. But I've never seen any that low. And somehow westbound is even lower at 59 minutes - if it's on time!

Where does this "faster than LRT" come from?

I drove across the line and noticed the area around the CP overpass (Weston road) still hasn't been paved and has temporary road signs

IIRC, the multi use path under that CP Rail line is also still not done? I suggested to the Toronto Star a while back to do an investigation on that part due to the lack of accountability but haven't seen anything yet. Maybe @atakagi1 can help?
