Finch West Line 6 LRT

1. There is no official date announced.
2. Even if one were, official dates are repeatedly withdrawn.
3. Two rumoured dates have been reported, both in December.
Therefore, November is impossible, December has a good chance, next year is also entirely plausible.
And by the way, if they are pushing to get Finch opened before Eglinton, I think Eglinton in December is close to impossible.
I'm always happy to be proved wrong!
Agreed, Eglinton is moreso a spring opening post all the snow at this point, Metrolinx won't risk the line opening in peak winter period

Word from TTC Repersentives at QQE LRT public meeting tonight stated service will start December 15 which is a Monday. Since the 7th is on a Sunday when board changes take place and no idea when December Board charges is has legs to open then.

Then there maybe a small soft openimg on the 13th or the 14th to allow for ribbon cutting.

Regardless which date is right, the line will open before Line 5 as some have stated the past year or so. Metrolinx may pull a rabbit out of the hat that will beat Finch opening in November.

Okay then. Thankfully not December 7th since I will be in Montreal around that time checking out the new REM extension!

I am going by what TTC staff said and it will not be the first time they been wrong. It could be the 7th. I was planning on doing th REM but other comments the next day kill that idea.

Have never meet these TTC staff members before and they keep changing from one meeting to another the last few years.

According to a report on the TTC Board agenda, "It is projected that Revenue Service Demonstration would be completed in October, and that Substantial Completion would be achieved in early November. [...]
Once Revenue Service Demonstration is completed, the TTC will perform another cohort of operator training to support readiness for Revenue Service, and this training is expected to last until early December 2025."

See https://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2025/ttc/bgrd/backgroundfile-259542.pdf at pp 8-9. This means mid December is the earliest possible date.

and what about line 5 eglinton with the rsd probably finishing by mid november

Has anyone heard anything regarding the proposed path that is supposed to go under the CP Rail line between Weston and Signet-Arrow? The lack of accountability about this is truly frustrating.

Will Eglinton also require additional operator training after revenue service demonstration, if no it still might open before finch.

The TTC is supposed to officially take over the Finch LRT today but I don't see any news article about this or any news on an opening date.... 😢
When Metrolinx says tomorrow, they mean one week, and when they say 30 days, they mean 60. It's just Metrolinx math.

Line 6 changes are taking place.

101 has taken over the 128. Has two branches 101A and 101B.

37A is extended to Humber College Station.

There’s the new 166 Toryork route.

996 is extended to Humberwood.

119 has two new branches 119A and 119B taking over the 36D/F.

36 has a 36C branch. The route has been reworked to seperate the service west of Finch West Station. The current 36A is know just as the 36 now between Finch and Finch West. 36C is the current 36B with addition of "via Humber College" signage. The "36J" combined branch no longer exist.
