"Residents"? More likely gentrification of the parking lots would happen first..

Established conventions? Metrolinx doesn't even follow there own.

The area is called "Jane and Finch". For Eglinton, the area around the station was the former Eglinton village.

Indeed. given they hae a rule about duplication - and yet are opening a new Mount Pleasant station far-removed from the Mount Pleasant GO station (I wonder if that will confuse anyone at Mount Dennis station, where there'll be a GO trains announced that are terminating at Mount Pleasant, along with subway trains passing through Mount Pleasant station.

And then there's the whole Eglinton duplication. How was it that Eglinton West that needed renaming, when GO already has an Eglinton Station in Scarborough?

I wonder about the whole East Harbour/West Harbour thing too. How many irregular travellers will end up on the wrong Lakeshore train, with the announcements about West Harbour/East Harbour thing.

Toronto still has duplicate street names. There is King Street in old village of Weston, along with King Street West and King Street East in the old Town of York. There are also duplicate park names.

They aren't duplicate name it' because when Toronto was laid out it was decided that streets west of Younge would be called the street name and West and streets eat of Younge would be called East if they continued across the city as the same street. For the most part except for on the university section of line 1 the TTC has used those as well. For example we have Lawrence West station on the west side of line 1 , Lawrence station is centered on Younge so it doesn't have an east or west designation, and then Lawrence East station on the SRRT which is on Lawrence East.

It's weird that Toronto street is the most like stubby and useless street in the city
