Finch West Line 6 LRT

Almost all of Hydro One's buried high voltage lines are 115kV, but I do know they have a dual 230kV circuit buried a short distance between Queen where it passes under the Obico Subd and the Horner Transformer Station on Kipling, so burying 230kV isn't entirely unprecedented for Hydro One. Burying six 230kV circuits, on the other hand, is a much more expensive undertaking.

Is finch west lrt extended until the new go station near woodbine racetrack or it will continue to Pearson airport?

There is no approved extension at this time. A preliminary study has not even been started.

The closest we have is nephew Ford's request for the city to look into an extension to the Woodbine GO

What kind of concerns can there be when trails, playing fields, bus terminal, and parking are already under the wires?
A big issue is that the lines (wires) themselves need to be replaced every 25ish years. Hydro has to drop them to do it, and having major transit infrastructure under them makes it hard.

Does that mean we can bury all wires in 25ish years?
No.

There's other infrastructure that is associated with those lines - the wires are just one aspect. The towers, for instance....

If everything lines up and it is all up for replacement in one cycle, then maybe it might make sense. Maybe.

Speaking of wires, are they planning on burying the hydro wires along the street? They did that with the Yonge and Bloor-Danforth subway projects, as well as the Spadina and St. Clair streetcar projects. It improves the public realm significantly and encourages investment.
Not 100% sure, but I think so.
The CLC doc states that “The high voltage switch was moved from the old overhead wires to the new underground duct bank” which is certainly evidence in favour!

Yes looks like they are - 2021 Open House
