interesting shot... sign says Road Race, so "ELIBOMOTUA" is a reflection
(people with cellphones often post pictures that are reversed, and i cannot understand why)

p.s. if cars were still like that — exposed, fragile, what, 20mph tops? — instead of the tank-like SUVs we have today, then #VisionZero would be less of a concern, eh (apologies for off-topic rant by VRU (vulnerable road user i.e. cyclist, pedestrian)

A week or so ago Goldie posted a photo that showed the former Great Western Station (Yonge & The Esplanade) on the Then and Now thread. Here are three of it from TPL collection

Two from 1867

and one from 1951 - not long before it burnt down

Thanks for those images, DSC.
I particularly like this 1880 photo showing a classic engine.
Much like that wonderful sketch you included.

A British Airship, the R100, visited Toronto in 1930.
It's uncertain how many of the press photos of the day were faked.

lol! I wondered about your claim until staring at the second and third pics. UFOs have invaded! It's likely the case in at least some of the pics that the actual event was taking place, but the image has been manipulated to bring both viewers and the object into the same frame, and in doing so, the perspective alters radically.
