Downtown Yonge

Oh yes. Joey's! People in Joey's can check their 6/49 numbers live as they are drawn. Of course being in Joey's will be more exciting than winning the jackopt, so they may not.

At the risk of sounding stupid, what's Joeys?

Any new updates at 33 Dundas Street. I am guessing they are putting a pause on the exterior and news banner due to the recent layoffs.

Oh please, let's not refer to the CityTV/Omni studios as a neighbourhood. That's deeply disturbing!
Any news on this heap can be found under Projects & Construction/City-TV & OMNI-TV's H.Q.

Does that mean the iconic "Downtown Yonge" signs will extend south to Front and north to Wellesley?

If they are going up to Wellesley, why not go all the way up to Bloor. That will encompass the entire Yonge stretch that gets the most foot traffic.

News Article: BIA paramilitaries in skirmish; Yonge Street troops advance on Bloor
Toronto Star, November 12, 2010

Yonge Street has become a battleground between the militias established by two Business Improvement Areas this summer after negotiations to define borders between the two areas broke down in acrimony. Last night, Yonge BIA troops advanced on territory occupied by the Bloor-Yorkville BIA, bombing storefronts and ripping out granite "Bloor-Yorkville" indicators embedded in the sidewalks at Hayden and Yonge Streets. Two staff members at Kitchen Stuff Plus reported slight injuries due to pepper spray, but no fatalities were recorded.

The leader of the Yonge Street BIA commando squad, General Garcia Marquez-Penobscott, celebrated with his troops as he hoisted the flag of the Yonge BIA at the corner of Hayden. "Tomorrow we take the Reference Library", he yelled to his cheering troops as they drank beer at the Brass Rail.

Noodle Houses in the area reported that business was down. Harold Cho, proprietor of "Zing", indicated that if the two BIAs were not able to reconcile their differences, or if it appeared that neither would be victorious in the skirmishes, that consideration was being given to a splinter BIA, tentatively called "Noodle Row BIA".

That's Bloor-Yorkville's turf.

I think the Yorkville BIA only goes south to Charles Street. This is great that the Yonge Street BIA is advancing it's borders to the south and north but a large section from Wellesley to Charles is still without a BIA.
