Is this the best you can do?
No. I just don't care enough.

The planner didn't bring York University up, GDB did.Because everybody who transfers at STC wants to go to York University.
Yes. I just don't care enough to.
The planner didn't bring York University up, GDB did.
The fact is we need to move forward, both plans have issues. The answer is no longer to keep studying and debating. There is also another plan coming this election lets throw that one in there now.
The planner on the pannel just told GDB off, "there are no time savings to be had with the subway." "If you want to go to York University, why don't you take the Express Bus? Nobody takes the subway from Scarborough to York University mister De Baeremaeker".
Council approved the $3.56 three-stop subway extension that was expected to move 14k pphpd, over the SLRT proposal. We're now building a 1-stop $3.4 Billion subway extension with about half the projected ridership. That's such a massive change in ridership, cost and scope, that another look at all options is warranted.
Yes, after the planner mentioned the express bus, GDB retorted by saying "I have many friends who use STC to transfer to University Line".Was GDB saying people would use the subway to get to YorkU?
WTF? Why would anyone do that when it takes 40 minutes longer, and 3 transfers.Yes, after the planner mentioned the express bus, GDB retorted by saying "I have many friends who use STC to transfer to University Line".
*yawn*

Pumping out like 3 articles in two days. Doesn't the star have anything better to do?
I really like how they compare various 6km stretches of subway, which is a much more accurate comparison than comparing between individual stations, since this will be the only station that requires 6km of subway to be built to get to it.*yawn*

You're right, they're double counting. It looks like they simply added the station totals from here without doing any analysis:she is absolutely hounding the scarborough subway file, and isn't even the Star's transit reporter. This shows, there are often a lot of errors in her articles.
Those comparisons are far, far from accurate. The entire TTC system sees just over 1,000,000 daily trips. No way over 3/4 use the downtown loop every day. They show 98,000 trips on the Sheppard subway, while we know less than 50,000 trips are made on that line daily.
The problem with the metric is that the comparable numbers are alightings and boardings, meaning the Sheppard subway sees double its actual ridership, as it counts everyone getting on and off at once.
The Scarborough subway ridership number shows 64,000 unique trips to the station. This means that 64,000 people will pay a TTC token to travel to STC every day. Only 49,000 people pay a TTC token to get on the sheppard subway every day.
