An application has been received by Oakville planning by QEW-Bronte Developments Inc. to permit a mixed use development at 1087, 1099 and 1105 Bronte Road, north of the QEW. The project will include retail and service commercial uses, offices, institutional and recreational uses and high-density residential up to 14-storeys.

Those living on the upper floors of this proposal, and facing west, would have a great view of Bronte Creek Provincial Park.

Should Provincial Parks have 14 floors looming over them? Somehow it doesn't seem quite right...

Hmmm. I could ask the same thing about 40-odd floors looming over preserved low-rise National Historic Sites. :p

Though it would finally break the isolation of the Halton Regional headquarters, which was in the middle of nowhere for years.

Though remember that the means out of isolation nearly claimed a heritage tree lately...
