I haven’t been out to the spit in awhile, since dogs aren’t allowed….so from 5km away, are these the pipe outlet risers? These just popped up in my view a few weeks ago or maybe much more(?) from what I recall.

I think these are the work platforms for the risers - the risers themselves will be on the lake bottom:

YES! I saw them today when cycling on the Spit. They can be seen in the video:

So....I went for a walk today, December 18th, out along the Leslie St. Spit; (all the way out to the tip), and I brought the camera, this project, being at the the base of the spit gets its first update since April...

And yes, that is a beaver. They were in abundance today on the Spit, I counted at least 8!

One additional note, I'm not sure when, the offshore rig was removed, but it has been.

In October they seemed to be removing the offshore rig on weekends but I too have not seen it at all for several weeks - though I have not ventured out to the Spit for about 10 days. You had a good walk today!

Well, you're overdue!

You had a good walk today!

I did, about 10km given various diversions to look at specific things on the Spit.

Will those basins be public access once construction is done?

Probably. The conceptual plans reflect that being the case. I'm not certain if that component is finished detailed design and/or funded (it may be); I just can't recall. But it should happen, eventually.
