I wonder if there is a nuit blanche event here this year. Two years ago, they showed a film here as part of that. The consulate laid on some nice Italian vittles; you had to pay of course, but a nice touch.
Does anyone remember when this was a Thrifty's? As part of the store, they had a riding equipment section. You could get you hacking jackets cheaper here than at Barringtons on Front street. Barringtons is also gone of course; there is a shop there selling souvenirs and Christmas decorations now. All the young horsie minded girls bought their stuff at Thrifty's and hung around Sunnybrook stables in their jodphurs and tweed coats.
^ Now that you mention it, I do remember the Thrifty's. I've been waiting at least 20 years for the owner of that property to take that yellow siding off and restore the building. It would be a nice landmark at this intersection.
