Downtown Markham wants in on the new "internal shopping street" fad! This project is just north of the new Marriott. 163,611 square feet of retail/restaurants is planned, which is substantial for the area. The application notes that the land directly to the east will eventually be a 35-story tower, so this may be one of the last mid-ride developments in Downtown Markham (Uptown Markham is also applying for taller towers in anticipation of Buttonville closing).

The original plan was to have a full glass arcade, but it looks like they've at least kept a bit of a canopy.
