Toronto Ryerson Centre for Urban Innovation | 26.21m | 5s | TMU | Moriyama Teshima Architects

The Theatre School, BTW, is moving into the base of the Ryerson Student Learning Centre at Yonge and Gould - - - their performance space at least. The move is planned for Thanksgiving Weekend this fall, so the CUI rebuild here on Gerrard would not start before that.

Anyone know where the Theatre School classrooms are moving to? Somewhere generally in Kerr or Jorgensen probably?

I miss the days when campus buildings would be called "Kerr Hall" or "Industrial Arts Building" and not some melange of buzz words. May as well call it the "Ryerson Hive for Leveraging Urban Innovation and Disruptive Synergies."

It's likely a temporary name until a more permanent replacement is selected using a donor's name. Kerr Hall, Jorgenson, etc. are all named after people. The Daphne Cockwell building was originally the Ryerson Health Sciences building. The name on the development application doesn't necessarily mean it will be the name on map when its finished.

I quite like how Gerrard is handled - particularly the tower that celebrated the mechanical aspect of the building and turned it into a focal point. Not so hot about the anonymous, personality free McGill facade.
