Location
Mississauga, where cars rule city growth
The site was being strip of everything a few months ago to the point a meter or 2 of earth has been removed for the site.

No idea if this the next phase of the Wallace Ave project or a new one all together.

Does anyone know what's happening with the site at 26 Ernest Ave., right next to the West Toronto Railpath and Bloor GO station?

Solway Metal Sales (scrapyard and new metal dealer) closed in December 2012 and the buildings were demolished shortly after. Apparently developer Tom Falus owns the property. They have done many other industrial-to-residential developments in the area, like the "brownstones" all over the place, misc stuff at Lansdowne/Dupont, etc.

I noticed this morning that there are some newly constructed structures that look like they will be holding signs....like the kind you see at other development sites. Are they putting forward a development proposal?

Some local discussion from around the time Solway's closed: http://www.junctiontriangle.ca/node/1786

And some photos during demolition: https://www.flickr.com/photos/vgedris/sets/72157633041801780/

Those who live in the area, watch for the announcement signs for this site, as the frame work is in place for the sign boards to be added to them.

There's a public meeting about this development application, next Tue July 22:

http://www.junctiontriangle.ca/node/2327

Date: July 22, 2014
Time: 7:00 - 9:00 P.M.
Place: St. Luigi Catholic School, 2 Ruskin Ave., Main floor gymnasium

Proposed are seventy-two, 3-storey townhouses with one parking space incorporated into each townhouse and eight visitor parking spaces.

When someone hires them for a job? In that vein, the townhomes that are part of the St. Jamestown North project are incredibly sharp.

I think it's the same developer as all the "Brownstones" in the area, meaning they will be neither brown nor stone. :)

Good lord these are disheartening. Utterly terrible.

I don't think five facade materials (not including glass) is enough...
