    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

This is exactly it. If you don't offer anything, it's not hard to chum the water. In my case, I simply offered up a logical explanation from a comment by a city councillor, and @urbancog offered some supporting information to it being linked to tunnel contracts. This is not so much about gossip...

Yeah, cause Kathleen Wynne is a soil engineer and she should have known better.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

That was my first reaction, but it just struck me as too oddly specific.

At City Council, Mike Colle was blasting the Premier on Bill 212. During the rant, he makes a comment that "He should complete the f-ing Eglinton Crosstown. After 13 years, you'd think he would focus in on finding out why the Eglinton Crosstown tunnel is sinking." I know folks here are adamant...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

While I would need to do some mapping and thinking to take a firm position, I'll insert some (what I think is) relevant content from the original Big Move (2008 Metrolinx Regional Transportation Plan):

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I know we had that big debate about a third track, but I had forgotten about there being a pedestrian connection over CPKC's tracks. Does anyone recall if this was built or roughed in?

I hope they can use my information as a starting point.

For context, it's a 4 minute bus ride to Long Branch, on top of a 5-10 minute walk to the bus stop. The new trail connection through Jim Tovey Conservation Area will likely make it ~8-10 minute bike ride or a 30 minute walk (Google speeds, shorter if you go at a quicker pace).

    Post your criticism/suggestions here

A bit broader than the forums themselves, but I am not sure of a better place to put it. With what's happening on the "ex-bird" site, have you guys looked at making an account on Bluesky? The Toronto and broader urbanism community has really flourished over there, and you guys (and anyone else)...

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Flood protection in Toronto (and most of southern Ontario) is regulated to a "Regional storm." It's basically the same as Hurricane Hazel. Will a storm like that ever happen again in our lifetimes? With climate change, it could absolutely happen again, or something close. Another thing to...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I noticed in the schedule update that one westbound train stops at Guelph at 12:01AM, but does not continue to Kitchener. Are they parking it on that track at Shantz?

I'm wincing a bit thinking that, one day, I'm going to have thousands of "archival photos".

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

This is interesting. I hopped into Streetview to look at the crossing, and it notes 3 tracks being present on the sign. There was an old siding into Slater Steel to the north, and it was ripped out of the road around New Years 2022. I don't really think it has much to do with the speed...

Well, as this rises, I guess this view from 2 St Clair is on a limited timeline. Somewhat potato cellphone shots I took from the 13th Floor (aka "12A") in 2014 and 2015. 2015.

Post your pictures of Toronto here!

I took a walk along Etobicoke Creek on Sunday, and while cloud cover and being late in the season made for some dull shots further upstream, this one from south of Eglinton was a good one.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I thought I was advocating for a more direct busway transfer between 407 GO / other Miway buses and the GO line, which would make a faster commute than any transfers at Square One. When did subways come up? Unless you're talking about the GO tunnel towards Square One, which I'm basically saying...

Yes it has a map, you can skip to 8:32.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Why are we talking about tunneling a GO line? Shouldn't we be talking about building a new central Mississauga Transitway segment from the 403 down into the existing Erindale GO? You get your direct interchange, and open up a rapid transit corridor along Burnhamthorpe to Square One. It'd be a...
