    Finch West Line 6 LRT

According to a report on the TTC Board agenda, "It is projected that Revenue Service Demonstration would be completed in October, and that Substantial Completion would be achieved in early November. [...] Once Revenue Service Demonstration is completed, the TTC will perform another cohort of...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Just so everyone knows what AM peak service levels were back in January 2020 pre-pandemic: 34 Eglinton East : every 4 minutes (15/h) to Don Mills, every 6 (10/h) to Kennedy Station 54 Lawrence East: every 4'30" (13.3/h) to Leslie 51 Leslie: Every 20' (3/h) to Leslie 56 Leaside: Every 10' (6/h)...

    TTC: Streetcar Network

The east-west crossing routes are relatively infrequent, but they have nearside stops and so their interaction with the signals is completely different. What is needed is the "sense" in signal controllers that there is an approaching streetcar *and* space on the farside platform so that...

    TTC: Streetcar Network

A few points worth noting here. If there were excessive delays that removing stops at Sussex and Willcocks would solve, you would see a lot of horizontal lines at those locations, but they aren't there. The big problems come with lack of true priority at the major intersections compounded by the...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

The switches in that part of the yard are manual and cannot be activated remotely. It is possible that with snow packed in the switch, the points were not completely set in the intended direction. Also, these switches can be driven through in the trailing direction without being manually...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

The train is on a yard track, not the main line. There is no "northbound" or "southbound" here.

I believe that 4617 was the car that tried to go to George Brown's cooking school at King & Frederick.

    TTC: Streetcar Network

All streetcars can run in reverse. Any limitations are in operating policies or built into the control systems, not an inherent technical limitation. It's easier with pans because you don't need someone to guide the pole through special work, let alone to run interference with traffic.

I might have this info in my archives, but it's in hard copy. I can't find an electronic version. I will look and get back to you.

There is now a detailed list of planned streetcar and subway work for 2025: https://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2025/ttc/bgrd/backgroundfile-252236.pdf

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The planning for the new routes is in place, and they have probably designed most of the schedules, subject to tweaks from service changes that may have happened in the interim. (For example a service improvement on a route affected by Line 5 that was implemented after the new, post-line-5...

    Streetcar Tracks on Adelaide

TTCHelps confirmed earlier this morning that "mid November" is the correct date.

    Streetcar Tracks on Adelaide

For accuracy, the TTC posted a new notice (there are four at last count) listing the Church/King/Spadina diversion as running to "mid November". The previous date was "November 3". Notice saying Nov 3...

    TTC: Streetcar Network

The water main is from York east to Victoria. That's why they are doing the streetcar track west from York to Charlotte now. The eastern part and the York Street connection to Queen will be done under a separate contract in 2023. That one will be a Metrolinx contract, so who knows how badly they...

    TTC: Streetcar Network

It is quite likely that the TTC will restore streetcar service between Parliament and Bay via Carlton (the originally planned diversion) before the Dec 31 date shown on the current posters. There is no date set yet pending confirmation that the road *really* will be available. Also no word on a...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

This is only one stage of the overall construction. Watermain replacement east of York, new track west of York. Next year, the track on York and on Adelaide east to Victoria will be done as a Metrolinx project. At KQQR there was a big problem because of the street redesign which changed the...

    King-Queen-Roncy Intersection/ROW

The 501 cars are only using The Queensway for access to the carhouse, not to Sunnyside Loop. The 501 is supposed to be extended there at Thanksgiving weekend, the next schedule change, but I have not seen the official notice yet. In a pinch they could loop around the carhouse.

Both of those are typical "throwaway" buildings that just keep the site warm pending redevelopment when circumstances are favourable. See also the LCBO on the SE corner of King/Spadina.

Over at Broadview there is a 35-storey tower proposed on the Loblaw's site: https://urbantoronto.ca/news/2021/08/choice-properties-proposes-redevelopment-broadview-and-danforth-loblaws-site . This will probably trigger interest in the SW corner at Danforth which is a collection of old buildings...
