    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

King - Church earlier today If the intersection was closed for construction - why not improve the stops to at least like something like this (e.g. Queen near Roncy) --- or was there a technical issue with building something more permanent in terms of better stops/platforms?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Track on Esplanade south side just west of Market St. earlier today, only for only ~half a block. There didn't seem to be anything else being constructed west of Jarvis along Esplanade other than this little bit (although I didn't walk all the way over to Yonge). Anybody know what the status...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Denison Ave looking north to Dundas Construction on the east starting to clear up a bit and newly painted lines added to the road Initial thought was that this is pretty lackluster since I think the street was widened recently (just a painted lane on only one side - why not protected if the...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

some work on Tecumseth a bit south of King - maybe this will be space for Bike Share? the northbound side still has car parking instead of a cycle track/bike lane/anything unfortunately

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Agreed on the parking - no need here But even with it, I'm wondering if there's a specific design guideline that prevented adding a physical barrier here? or was this a political decision? For example, Wellington is approx the same width (from Niagara to Strachan) and it has nice separated...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Walking down Gladstone yesterday - the section between Peel and Queen only have painted lanes, instead of any protection/curb/etc between cars and cycling - anybody know why? seems like the ROW is wide enough have protected cycling while still having space for emergency vehicles

    Transit Fantasy Maps

Thought recently it'd be nice if Church St had a streetcar route Would offer mild "relief" from Line 1 and more of a direct route for some folks travelling north-south on the east side of downtown Here's a quick fantasy map! Naming it the 519 after the old 19 bus that ran on Church from 1954-96

    Toronto 675 King West | 74.9m | 21s | Colonia Treuhand | Sweeny &Co

Odd to me initially is that 'blank wall' only going from stories ~5 to 11 or so. Or are stories 1-4 not actual windows, but made to look like they match the front facade? Either way, I would've liked the architects to do something more clever/interesting on the east elevation - this will look...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

College just west of Bathurst - north side - from this morning 830am-ish

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Looks like an improvement But I'd like for the sidewalks to be widened on Portland as part of this - they are pretty narrow as is and are often crowded, especially in the evenings, and many people just end up walking on the road Really no need for street-parking on Portland at all either -...

I walked through Glencairn Station yesterday for the first time in a while (around 3pm). The lighting is wonderful!

    Laneway and Garden Houses (various)

We wrote a short piece and created some maps showing where Laneway housing (and similar 'gentle density' housing) has been built in Toronto over the past few years. Check it out here: https://schoolofcities.github.io/gentle-density/toronto-building-permits
