    Billy Bishop Airport Expansion?

That BA flight was put on a hiatus march 2020 (covid) and then cancelled in august of 2020. it was an a318, required a refuelling stop in Ireland to make it across the Atlantic and it was economically unviable. But yea like you said, with an extension BB could easily become a niche business...

    TTC: Streetcar Network

the more and more I think about everything wrong with the streetcar system in Toronto, it seems like Melbourne is our closest point of comparison. other than our shared lack of speed and transit priority, Melbourne exceeds Toronto in quality. from the use of many different generation of trams...

    TTC: Streetcar Network

not at all comparable, Qline is 5.3km long, has a daily ridership of 2600 and only operates with 4 vehicles.

    TTC: Streetcar Network

idk if this is the page for it but, How likely would a Parliament Streetcar be once the Union Loop expansion is completed. Such a line could use the Lower deck of the viaduct over the Rosedale Ravine and have an underground loop at Castle Frank and would need less than 4km of track, 1.25km from...

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

I can understand the hunger/want to run the line westward towards HBS but dont see the purpose of duplicating GO services with a metro. If metrolinx sorts it sh*t out and gets on with electrification, Lakeshore could be run with run 8 car trains at 7.5 min frequencies. That would give it a...

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

The platforms/tracks on the south side of union are being rebuilt right now and have provisions to allow for catenary/electrification. So simply electrify those tracks and run the Lakeshore Line along them. But yeah metrolinx is dragging their feet and making things harder than they should be...

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

This whole Battery debate is dumb, electrify the lakeshore corridor Aldershot to Oshawa while adding infill stations and TOD. Bring it thru Union via the new southern platforms/concourse. Then it's just a matter of cascading the existing loco hauled fleet unto the other lines, for increased...

    Ottawa Transit Developments

the issue is truly the design of the trains yeah, the Citadis Dualis, of which the spirits are based upon, have had similar axle and bearing issues. not to mention the Dualis operate far more like commuter or regional rail rather than a metro like in Ottawa and then there's whole issue of the...

    Ottawa Transit Developments

would go even further and say that we could've skipped over LRT and built a full metro akin to the skytrain or REM. but what's built is built unfortunately.

    VIA Rail

One could argue that Westjet really won't care all that much as they've shifted to focus on Alberta/Western Canada. If anything they'd likely want to join a consortium for rail between Edmonton/Calgary/Banff whenever that happens.

    Toronto Bloor-Yonge Station Capacity Enhancement | ?m | ?s | TTC | AECOM

Ah didn't realize line 1 trains were running under one person operations, that would make it difficult to implement and do so with that low of a headway.

    Toronto Bloor-Yonge Station Capacity Enhancement | ?m | ?s | TTC | AECOM

Sorry I didn't make it make sense, what I was saying is trains would go around all the way to the University side from Yonge and then terminate at lower bay. hitting all the stations south of line 2 downtown. Red line being the Yonge line and U/S being Yellow. In my head this would likely...

    Toronto Bloor-Yonge Station Capacity Enhancement | ?m | ?s | TTC | AECOM

Terminate Yonge line trains at Lower Bay, the University/Spadina trains at the Third track south of Rosedale. Instead of transferring at Yonge and Bloor you could go to Bay and get on an empty Yonge line train, the U/S trains would also be empty going into Bloor/yonge reducing amount of...

    Toronto Bloor-Yonge Station Capacity Enhancement | ?m | ?s | TTC | AECOM

Honest question and sorry if its been brought up before but, would it not be far more reasonable to reopen the platform at Lower Bay and add pocket tracks to turnback trains south of Rosedale and just split Line 1 into a Yonge line and a Western Line.

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

from wikipedia, "tokyo's rail system has roughly 1200 stations over approximately 2500km of track", so 2.08km between stations

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

Bit ranty but In regards to Reece’s video, You’d assume that the closest comparable systems to GO post-electrification would be the systems of Australia and Germany. But station spacing would say otherwise with it staying typical of Loco-hauled North American Commuter services. You could easily...

Toronto Ontario Line 3 | Metrolinx

imo, the most logical routing for an extension west of exhibition is up dufferin to the CP corridor and galleria redevelopment. then go at grade using the CP corridor west until Jane and go elevated up Jane to reach eglinton. anyway lets not fill this thread up with fantasies of a western OL...

    Ottawa Transit Developments

not sure if this is the right forum for this but, why weren't the new Stadler Flirt's ordered with the battery pack option? it would've allowed for cheap(er) electrification of the line and they could be quickly charged during the long dwell times at Bayview and Limebank. (and on another note...
