    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Ignoring pushback sounds like an easy way for someone to lose their next election and for their projects to get cancelled. Getting the majority of people on board should be the goal. We certainly can't cave to all demands but entirely ignoring community concerns is not a good strategy

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

I assumed most of the line would operate on new tracks, and that it would share corridors with freight but not rails. at least through rural areas. Could they use parts of the Havelock sub row without needing to remove freight traffic? The section through peterborough wouldnt have enough room...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Yea the elevated sections of line 3 and 5 give me some hope but we are yet to see elevated rail near single family homes, which is where most of the pushback would come from. Its a whole other beast getting people on board in an environment like this compared to this doesnt help that a lot of...

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

yea catalyzing new development is the only metric where LRT performs way better than BRT, though far more urban developments are already being proposed along the route regardless of transit options so i dont think it enough to affect the decision. A line 4 extension would certainly bring plenty...

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

I do to... i miss my daily trips on line 3. If line 4 can one day take you between vic park and Morningside thats enough of a scarborough line for me

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

do you know how many drivers it takes to run BRTs with that kind of capacity? That business model is usually only viable in countries where labour is cheap. Believe thats why a BRT was shut down on finch. Also if you're talking economies of scale it's not like its an isolated line or that we...

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

Cancel it. I live on the corridor and have been calling for it to be brt years. the LRT is not only projected to be slower than the 905 but will introduce many forced transfers for existing users of the 116, 86, 85, and 12, slowing down travel times for those riders that much more. A BRT would...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Waterfront LRT makes 0 sense as BRT. The Density is very high (could eaisly support several subway stations) and the corridor is short. It's as close to a perfect use case for LRT that we have. A Brt would cost so much to run enough busses to keep up with long term demand. Now i agree Eglinton...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Thanks for the clarification. I do believe ION vehicles get a green light before left turns at certain intersections but not positive

OMFG the TTC has had limited TSP for decades and Waterloo Region is literally less than 100km away... are they actually trying to claim they dont think TSP is used anywhere in north america??? The ttc board has no idea what goes on in their own organization

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

They're not going to run trains through union and not stop. as ther article said, the preffered station location is near union. that could mean a block away like the UP station or somehere completely different like summerhill, but a stop at pearson or woodbine would be in addition to union or a...

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

Only concern is tuning around trains at east harbour or needing to layover, and the track capacity. Could work as an interim station But i think the current plans for the station would need to be changed drastically As a guidlwood resident that would make 0 sense, no higher order transit...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

A feb 8th date is acceptable if theyd tell us what the hold up is. I'd be happy if they were taking those two months to work on TSP implementation and ensuring high speeds across the line, but they could just as easily be taking two months to change the signs at Don Valley again.

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

They are considering it but are in a very early planning stage. even if it shares track with go, this corridor would have less go traffic than union

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

The way the CEO was talking about choosing a station near union if not union itself tells me they want at station closer into the city. I could see woodbine being added as an additional stop for some trains btu not as the main terminal

Platforms should be heated and snow shouldn't accumulate, but cover while its snowing or raining would be nice. Has snow been accumulating on the platform?

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I cant see an easy way for the line to detour to agincourt from the 401. Could wok at Kennedy commons but it misses the transfer. Also would work east of McCowan you could detour to centennial and/or utsc. I can see this approach working better west of the spadina line. It can swing down to the...

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

Lol when this happen. The document you site for descoping the project also projects 50k trips a day which is more than almost every streetcar line (seems a little excesive to me but no doubt the ridership will be high). At full build uot this will be one of the densest corridors in the country...

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

If they end up using the Bellville Sub to get into the city is it possible they do a station at Summerhill? Certainly wouldn't do great things to line 1 capacity but it imagine itd be a lot cheaper than anything downtown but a lot more faster to get to than a station father in the suburbs

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Admittedly that doesnt make a ton of sense, the Fastest parts of the ION are where it has its own ROW through Waterloo, the section on King st is definitely slower The TTC brought their own "experience" while GRT actually went through the effort to learn best operating practices and apply them
