I feel like I recently read somewhere that a significant number of TTC closures have been caused by people on the tracks. Perhaps the slowing down and wanting to avoid hitting people is actually less about safety and more about avoiding even longer shutdowns? 🤔

I feel I was one of the few originally who liked the old train shed, but if it's standing in the way of progress & electrification, then I'm all for removing the heritage designation & the structure. It's not like they can't reuse parts creatively elsewhere if they want to keep some momentos.

I'd rather the opposite, as none of the high-in-the-sky restaurants are affordable at present. If not at Pinnacle, then somewhere else. Or just open more observatories... or have one floor that's more affordable and one that's higher end in the same space (the CN Tour has the layout for this...

I would love to agree with you regarding planters, but I suspect litterers will destroy them by filling them up with cigarette butts & other sundries before we can even blink.

I wonder if there's been a study on that. It's just anecdotal, but most of my non-transit nerd friends have also expressed their preference for the smoother riding streetcar over the rough bus any time I've brought it up.

I'm glad for you! I'm not so keen on mine. If anyone has an opening for a project coordinator/manager with a health industry background & a smattering of public affairs, advocacy & regulatory work, but a far greater passion for urban design & architecture, I'd welcome your DMs. 😉

Hmmm... I do not see streetcars & buses as equivalent & most definitely would choose a route that uses the former over the latter when the option exists. And I'd like to visually be able to see my subway & streetcar options together, not on different maps. But I guess it is also true that most...

As others have mentioned, I like the idea of showing all the rail lines on one map so people can decide for themselves which route makes the most sense for them, but also using something to differentiate between frequent service which includes streetcars and subways and less frequent service...

Or just portable kiosks in general. Might be nice to have a sprinkle of other small retail in there too, food related or otherwise.
