    East Don Trail Project

It almost looks like one of the contributing factors of this odd design is a requirement to put a cage around the sides that face the golf course (I can see what looks like a cage on the roof and side facing the golf course, but not the opposite side)

Aren't there already signs saying it will eventually close around 2025?

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

At Queen they are ALSO installing digital ad signs between the tracks. Sooo, ads everywhere!!

I think the sarcasm went right over your head.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Anyone notice the Presto pucks at the subway stations seem to have been replaced? They only have 4 LED lights now and they seem to be just as fast at detecting my presto card as the original green readers before they were replaced with the pucks

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Line 1 and 2 maps (not sure about Line 4) both use the vertical styling at stations so maybe that's something they've decided to be consistent on.

I agree, I'm just saying the new maps they've been installing look terrible with the LED's and I heard that they were going to turn them off. 🤔

I thought the plan was to just shut off the lights? They've been replacing the maps with new maps that don't have transparent holes for the lights.

For those curious this pic shows the cross over just south of St. Clair: https://www.toronto.ca/explore-enjoy/history-art-culture/online-exhibits/web-exhibits/web-exhibits-transportation/the-ttc-100-years-of-moving-toronto/canadas-first-subway-construction-begins/

The plan AFAIK is to turn them off. In fact some of the TRs already have new maps with solid white circles instead (the light can still pass through but it doesn't look great).

Toronto's historical imagery doesn't go back far enough but I think you can see the old path it followed here: http://jpeg2000.eloquent-systems.com/toronto.html?image=ser12/s0012_fl1947_it0018a.jp2

Could be anything really. Could have shifted resources to underground work until the Spring, shifted resources to Yonge/Eglinton, etc

TTC: Automatic Train Control and Subway Platform Screen Doors

On downhill sections of track there were timed blocks which are designed to prevent humans from going over the speed limit. The signal would show red with a flashing white light. If the train approached at the correct speed, the signal would turn green or yellow before the train actually reached...

TTC: Automatic Train Control and Subway Platform Screen Doors

I'm pretty sure the trip arms were tied down as ATC was activated along the line. I'd imagine the failsafe is if ATC loses contact with the train or the train isn't obeying ATC commands, it'll estop.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Wasn't the train in question the train that hit the person?

    Barrie Collingwood Railway (BCRY)

Well during the weekends there are 3x as many trains as a single weekday and those are 100% tourist trains.

DC actually has a subway station so deep that the only way to access it is via a high speed elevator. There are no escalators/stairs other than an emergency stair well. But to your point, that'd never happen here.

Cycling: West Toronto Railpath (City of Toronto, Phase II Proposed)

Ran along the railpath yesterday and the "tree protecting fencing" is being put up along large sections of the trail.

I don't think it's funded (only the extension of the current Railpath is) so if it will happen some day...it's a long time away.
