One of them is a nail salon (hand-made sign with its name on the window). Not sure about the other!

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

All great points! I would be the first to admit that my aversion to regional bus service is somewhat irrational. I think I generally find buses more uncomfortable, tend to get motion sickness, and they are at the whim of traffic (which is what I dislike about driving). I take the bus frequently...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

That is entirely incorrect. Just to make a comparison. Oxford University is located in Oxford, UK, which is a University town approximately 100km outside of London. Waterloo is 110 km outside of Toronto, so this is comparable, and it's also a university town. The population of Oxford UK is...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

This is precisely the issue. I am never going to use a go train, that then requires me to transfer to a go bus (which may or may not be full) and whose schedule does not precisely line up with the go train, and which then needs to get on the highway, which may hit traffic. I would only ever use...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

That's wonderful to hear that there are plans. I think the reason why many people choose not to use Go (including myself for a trip from Toronto to Kitchener) is the lack of flexibility. Prefer the European model, of basically being able to show up at a train station and buy a ticket and get...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

So...so close to being good. Wish this went all the way to Kitchener. Will never use this train until it does. I presume there's plan to extend this all the way to Kitchener?

Toronto Weston Flea Market future redevelopment (Old Weston Rd, n of St. Clair W, ?, ?s, ?)

Just curious if anyone has any information about this plot of land and what is proposed here. It is currently just a large field of dirt with a mound of dirt. Do we know who owns it? It’s currently not listed for sale or rent. There’s no development applications and no lobbyist registrations I...

    Toronto St Clair-Old Weston GO Station | 9.13m | 1s | City of Toronto | Hatch

I live close by, we received this notice not too long ago, although I haven’t been able to check as to whether any work is actually being done.

    Toronto St Clair-Old Weston GO Station | 9.13m | 1s | City of Toronto | Hatch

They are doing work at night on this site. We received a notice of the overnight work recently. They are locating underground utilities. You may be confusing the site with the old Weston flea market site, which is different.

1834 St Clair West (Heydon House Hotel)

I came across this "proposal" by Marzotto Architects that seems to have been posted in 2018/2019. Anyone know if this is still in the works? https://marzottoarchitect.com/portfolio-items/heydon-hotel-condominiums/?portfolioCats=6#

    Toronto Reunion Crossing | ?m | 11s | Diamond Kilmer | Giannone Petricone

The high rise is fully occupied (save for the commercial space) and is expected to be registered shortly. Three of the four townhome rows are occupied with the fourth row being occupied throughout October and November. Landscaping is close to complete (should be done by next week). All that...

Reunion Crossing (Diamond Kilmer) - Real Estate -

Like you walked inside of the townhome? If you just mean accessible to the street, then not sure why that would be a worry — all homes are accessible to the public via the street. Save for some historic exceptions, Toronto does not have private streets.

    Toronto Reunion Crossing | ?m | 11s | Diamond Kilmer | Giannone Petricone

Not sure about the Habitat for Humanity townhomes, as those are separately managed, but for the ones within the complex, they are almost complete with occupancy finishing in August. I think some of the first townhome units (as per above) move in next month.

    Toronto Reunion Crossing | ?m | 11s | Diamond Kilmer | Giannone Petricone

In this instance, the habitat for humanity units are a separate development (technically) that has been severed from the main development. It is the last row of townhomes (after the road), closest to the park.

Has anyone with a townhome unit had their PDI scheduled yet? Excited to see photos of the townhomes if anyone would be willing to post them from their PDIs!

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

My guess is that the harbourfront rebuild was just finishing up around that time, so people were probably opposing any construction whatsoever on the basis that they just endured a significant construction project that affected their lives for quite some time. Similar to the opposition I expect...

I have been here since 2015, so about 8 years. Would love to see this built!

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Whoa, I live right here and never even heard about this project (didn't get any consultation notices). I think it's a great project. Who complained? Makes no sense to me. It doesn't block any views whatsoever, and increases the public walkways, which is much needed due to the popularity of the...

    Toronto Reunion Crossing | ?m | 11s | Diamond Kilmer | Giannone Petricone

They used the same brick on the front as well, it's just not shown in the pictures, above, because it was not yet completed.

    Kitchener DTK Condos | ?m | 39s | IN8 Developments | srm Architects

I agree. While Waterloo is technically more dense, it does not feel like a city (except for uptown). I think the problem has less to do with the buildings, and more to do with the streetscapes. The roads are very wide, and the building setbacks with front lawns are huge. It feels like there's...
