That photo is pretty out of date. It must have been taken when the building was finished. Since then, the green covering the lower level roofs has a bunch of trees fully grown. It looks a bit forest-like when you look down from your balcony.

An interesting idea, definitely more efficient use of the land. But won't this be a bit crowded? Also, I thought underground parking was really expensive to build. This could be a really expensive project. It's too bad transit to the area is still so crappy, otherwise there wouldn't need to be...

I like it. I think it's going to feel a lot roomier at the intersection with that open space. I live in the area, and right now the intersection and the sidewalk on the north side of St. Clair West east of the intersection feel really cramped.

That's a pretty nice looking map! One thing I like is that you don't make the distinction between subway or LRT. I guess each line would end up using whatever technology is most appropriate for the ridership levels.

Bus + Subway from near York U to Eglinton. On a good day, like Sundays, when Finch Ave W has no traffic, the entire thing can be as little as 40 mins. On a bad day, about an hour.

I actually love the trend of naming places and infrastructure after aboriginal names. We get so caught up in modern culture that native Canadian history gets erased. Preserving it place names (Niagara, Spadina, Seneca, Mohawk, etc) is great. Someone might ask themselves... where does that come...

Having just moved to Toronto, I've been really confused about the line's name myself. This clears it up, thank you. It makes me glad they renamed it the University branch of the subway. It serves two universities, or at least it will upon completion of the Vaughan extension.

I can't wait til this thing is finished. I take the 36 regularly and it is so over capacity during peak hours. :(

I think it would be unfair to York Region and its residents. We've promised them integration into our subway system, and they were the ones paying for it. I think we should finish this project but strongly considering moving to a staggered approach to transit improvements in the future, first...
